Mount Vernon, we made it this year!
This year’s Knox County Spelling Bee was a long, challenging, and unforgettable experience, and for Gabgab, it marked his second consecutive year competing at the county level. After nearly three hours of intense competition, Gabgab spelled his way through round after round of increasingly difficult words. For the second year in a row, he entered the county bee as his school’s grade-level champion, earning his place through dedication and consistent preparation. Competing against students from five school districts across Knox County, he showed focus, courage, and determination all the way through. By the end of the competition, Gabgab earned the title of 3rd runner-up, placing 4th overall in the county. Notably, this marks his second straight year as the grade school champion, a testament to his growth and commitment. This achievement reflects not just his spelling skills, but also his hard work, preparation, and perseverance. Spelling bees are not easy. They require confidence, composure under pressure, and the ability to keep going even when the words get tougher. Watching Gabgab stay calm, think carefully, and give his best effort was a proud moment for our family. We are incredibly grateful for the support from our village, his teachers, coaches, and everyone who encouraged him along the way. This experience was more than a competition, it was a lesson in resilience, growth, and believing in yourself.
We couldn’t be prouder of Gabgab and all that he accomplished. This is a milestone he’ll always remember, and we’re excited to see where his journey takes him next.
Love,
Mama and Daddy♥
