The Bohol, Philippines Adventure

Our journey in Bohol began with a visit to the historic Blood Compact Shrine in Tagbilaran City. The Blood Compact was an ancient Filipino ritual used to seal a friendship, treaty, or agreement. Source: Wikipedia

  • Travel Time: From Tagbilaran pier, approximately 13 minutes (6.9 km) via tricycles..

Next, we explored the renowned La Purisima Concepcion de la Virgen Maria Parish Church, commonly known as Baclayon Church, located in Baclayon, Bohol.

  • Travel Time: From the Blood Compact Shrine, it was a quick 5-minute (3.6 km) tricycle ride. Yes, we traveled by tricycle throughout our tour!

Our adventure continued to the stunning Loboc Man-made Forest in Loboc, Bohol.

  • Travel Time: From Baclayon Church, it took about 30 minutes (29.5 km) by tricycle.

Can you guess where we went next? Yep, the Tarsier Conservation Area in Loboc, Bohol. Sadly, we couldn’t capture any photos with the real tarsiers.

  • Travel Time: Only about 3-5 minutes (1.1 km) from the Loboc Man-made Forest.

Then, we visited the Habitat Butterflies Conservation Center in Poblacion, Bilar, Bohol. Jon and I loved the staff's engaging, bubbly, and welcoming nature! They even had a fun way of taking photos, saying, "Ready, 1, 2, 3. Miraculous!"

  • Travel Time: 9 minutes (6.3 km) from the Tarsier Conservation Area.

Next up was the iconic Chocolate Hills! The Chocolate Hills are a geological formation in Bohol with at least 1,260 hills, possibly up to 1,776, spread over more than 50 square kilometers. Source: Wikipedia

  • Travel Time: From the Habitat Butterflies Conservation Center, it took approximately 20 minutes (14.7 km) to reach the Chocolate Hills. Unfortunately, it started raining as soon as we arrived.

Due to the heavy rain and being completely soaked, we decided to head back home instead of visiting the Danao Adventure Park. Despite the weather, we returned to Cebu with big smiles on our faces.
